Course Description

This course will cover the design and implementation of high-speed network and application services in support of modern Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Critical technologies include high speed data communication, switched vs. routed data flow, workflow engines, business rule and web application servers, and load balancing technologies. A large-scale web enabled ERP system architecture will be examined in detail.

Course Objectives

This course is designed as an indepth “hands-on” introduction. You will be introduced to many hardware and software systems and will be required to work with these technologies in class. The intent is to prvide a broad depth of knowledge, hence we will...

  • Develop a working vocabulary, along with a sound conceptual understanding of the most common IT infrastructure architectures and standards that are implemented by many of today's "hi-tech" organizations, and
  • Identify the capabilities, typical uses, and the limitations of such technologies.
